Greetings Blizzard Snowmobile Club Members!
Our next meeting is Monday May 1st at 7:30p in the Sisseton Room at the Holiday Inn.
Last month we held elections for a couple positions. James Kloeckner agreed to stay on as VP, Brad Wallace agreed to continue in the Secretary role and Roman Johnson will remain our Trail Administrator. If you see these guys make sure to thank them for their service to our club.
As most of you know the proposed $10 per year registration fee increase was eliminated from the proposed bill. This is really needed to keep the account solvent. It is looking more likely that all the Clubs across the State are facing a 21% funding cut this upcoming winter without the additional funding. We all need to reach out to our local representatives Senator Julie Rosen sen.julie.rosen@senate.mn and Rep. Bob Gunther rep.bob.gunther@house.mn. There is a slight chance they could get this snuck back in if the original bill gets vetoed by the Governor. Without the fee increase many clubs will be hurting. The Blizzard Snowmobile Club is in a pretty good spot financially, but we would still not like to see the funding cut. We really need some good snow years and then get people to register their sleds to get the dedicated account back in shape. Without the funding groomers may have to sit idle and needed trail maintenance might not get done.
