Well last night was the April meeting of the Blizzard Snowmobile Club. We had 6 people in attendance which is better than they we had the last 2 meetings. When I first joined the club in the late 90’s there would be 20 to 25 people at the meetings. Most of them have retired from snowmobiling for various reasons, mainly age. We had some disappointing news last night as a groomer operator and 2 section leaders have called it quits. Section leader are responsible for getting the trails installed and removed, it is good if they have a buddy or 2 to help. If they have issues with the trail work we can get other members to help out. The sections without section leader are both located South of county 26, what we call the south loop. So we are looking for some new recruits, and hopefully some younger people, to help out. Without some new volunteers the future of the South loop could be questionable. If you enjoy groomed trails in Martin county please consider joining the club and helping out.
