Today the following trails were groomed. To Truman and north to the county line back south and then east to the old Jackson road, then south to Granada and back to Fairmont. Will not be grooming tomorrow. Yesterday I mention not grooming because of wind. To explain some. First the wind blows drifts acrossed the trail. Secondly when grooming the groomer tends to make a small snowstorm around it, which causes snow and ice to cover windows and entire machine. Add wind and blowing snow to the mixture and visibility becomes an issue. Visibility is very important when you are grooming so you can avoid obstacles, areas where you might get stuck and vehicles on the road. Next issue with wind is wind chill. It is warm in the cab when everything is work, but if you get stuck have a break down or as happened a number of times the motor stops running. It get cold in the cab very fast, could take sometime for somebody to come to the rescue. Lastly it blows the snow off the field and doesn’t leave enough snow to groom. I hope that explained a few things.
