Mark your calendar March 7th at 7:30 P.M. at the Holiday Inn Sisseton Room.  Our February meeting saw us cancelling the NSSR races due to poor ice conditions.  I want to thank everyone that worked so hard to bring this event to town.  It takes as much energy to get this event in motion as it does to complete it and I am disappointed we were not able to see it thru.

As you already know we also had to postpone our Kinship ride, but there is still hope if we get enough snow….

As far as I know our groomer is in pieces in Wisconsin waiting for parts from Italy.  It was an interesting challenge to get it there and a loaner back here.  The loaner is gone but then so is the snow so no loss….Thanks to the guys that helped in that adventure.  Richard Wiederhoeft brought his tow truck and Adam Breitbarth brought Graham Tire’s skid loader and with their help the groomer was loaded.  Greg, Brent,  Norm, Cade, and Warren were on hand also and I stayed out of the way.  If I have forgotten someone it is only because no one was standing still very long, unless you count Greg and Brent sitting in the loaner groomer unable to get it to move off the semi…

Brian has a couple options for map ads that we can talk about at our meeting.  Thanks for looking into that Brian.

Tom Kneeland will no longer be able to sign his area of the trail which is thru Granada and north to the Jackson road I believe.

Thanks Tom for all your hard work thru the years and I know it was a tough call for you to pass it on.  If anyone has some time and desire to take this on please talk to Roman.

Speaking of taking something on please remember April is election month for our club.  President, Treasurer, and Trail Administrator are up for election this year.  We have talked about combining treasurer and secretary positions and we can discuss this at our meeting.

On a lighter note, please welcome Keith and Sandy Winter from Welcome to our club.  Oh and also please welcome Tim and Kay Campe from Fairmont to our club!  If you know these folks please let them know it’s a pleasure to have them.  I have known Tim for many years and had no idea he was a  sledder!  Never too old to learn….

Try to find the time to come to the meeting.  I try to keep them an hour or less and since being at the Holiday Inn we have been hanging out after for some social time.  My fear is that I will be talking to myself some month ( I could probably do it though).

P.S.  Hey you old timer members, do you notice a pattern here anywhere?  New members this year Edman, Winter, and Campe!  I’m liking what I’m seeing.
