Our next meeting is Monday October 2nd at 7:30p in the Sisseton Room at the Holiday Inn.
The leaves are turning, the days are getting shorter and the temps are getting cooler… Fall is officially here! Time to start prepping for the upcoming snowmobile season.
At our last meeting we approved the purchase of a trail roller. This will be another tool to add to our arsenal of trail grooming equipment. Here is a link if you haven’t had a chance to check it out: http://www.sbgroomers.com/trail_roller.html
There are about 6-8 of us busy selling trail map ads and race sponsorships. Remember Greg has requested this all be turned in by this upcoming meeting. A big thanks to all those that have helped with this.
The NSSR and Icekahanna races are scheduled for January 13th with 14th being the backup dated for weather. Cross your fingers and hope we get good ice early! We are looking for someone or a small group to volunteer to help coordinate the races this year. Greg will be backing off that piece as he has taken on the leadership roll for the trail map and Brian is busy building hotels this fall.
Trail signing is right around the corner. There is still a section or two available if someone would like to take the lead. Let Roman Johnson know if you are interested. Otherwise it has worked out pretty good covering those sections with a work day. If you know of a section of trail that needs some work please let Brent, Rohman or myself know. There will likely be a couple work days coming up over the next few months as crops begin to come out so stay tuned.
If you have ideas on how we can increase our numbers, get more young people involved I would love to hear them! If you could make it snow a lot this winter it might help a little!
